  • Kidney stones (also called renal calculi, nephrolithiasis or urolithiasis) are hard deposits made of minerals and salts that form inside your kidneys.
  • Presence of stones in the kidney due to a decrease in urine volume or excess of stone-forming substances in the urine. 
Symptoms 


  • Sharp pains in your back, side, lower abdomen, or groin
  • Pink, red, or brown blood in your urine, also called hematuria
  • A constant need to urinate
