 Introduction

  • Rhinitis is an inflammation of the nasal cavity.
  • So allergic rhinitis is a disorder caused by allergy-causing substance, called allergens. Allergens could be pollen, dust, and pet hair. 
  • The common symptoms include sneezing and running nose.
Symptoms
  • Stuffy, runny and itchy nose
  • sneezing
  • Postnasal drip
  • Headache, sinus pain, dark circle under the eyes
  • Increased mucus in nose and throat
  • General fatigue and malaise
  • Wheezing, coughing and trouble breathing
Causes of Allergic Rhinitis

Seasonal and perennial allergies can result from many allergens, including:

  • Dust mites that live in carpets, drapes, bedding and furniture.
  • Pollen from trees, grass and weeds.
  • Pet dander (tiny flakes of dead skin).
  • Mold spores.
  • Cockroaches, including their saliva and waste.
  • Irritants like cigarette smoke, perfumes and diesel exhaust
  • Hidden food allergies

Complications of Allergic Rhinitis
  • Disturbed sleep
